Street cleaning programme

We are responsible for the sweeping of streets and removal of litter. Litter in a public place is unsightly, dangerous to animals, and an offence. The street cleansing programme provides a frequent cleansing of streets, gullies, car parks, public conveniences and other public areas to remove litter, build up of leaves or any other conditions which could pose a risk to public health and safety.

You can help us to achieve a cleaner environment by:

• being tidy with your litter and chewing gum
• having waste collection contracts for your business
• not leaving your dog's mess for others
• not fly-posting - it's untidy and illegal
• not parking where you want us to clean
• not fly-tipping your waste
