About this service

Restrictive Covenant Consents

If you have previously purchased a residential property from the District of Easington and wish to carry out alterations to the building, create a driveway or change the style of a boundary fence you may require the Council's permission under the Restrictive Covenants.

You should supply the Asset and Property Management Unit with:

Various other sections of the Council will be consulted on your proposal and other consents may also be required dependent upon the nature of your proposal, such as planning permission or building regulations consent.

Street Wardens

There are several warden teams who routinely inspect our housing estates throughout the district reporting or highlighting any problems.  If a problem is highlighted regarding a privately owned property, this is directed to the Asset and Property Management Unit for enforcement under the restrictive covenants.  An example of this may be an untidy/overgrown garden.
