Bookmaking may not be carried out on any betting track unless a Track Betting Licence is in operation under the Betting, Gaming and Lotteries Act 1963.
The licence is issued by this authority and remains in place for seven years.
The authority is able to appoint an accountant to audit the stadiums accounts to check betting is carried out correctly.
