As part of the District of Easington’s initiative to encourage recycling, residents are being offered home composters at massively discounted prices.
Around 30 per cent of household waste is organic and can be composted, including paper and cardboard, dead flowers, leaves, grass cuttings, raw fruit and vegetables, egg shells, tea bags, etc.
If you don’t compost already, then this is the ideal time to start. The District of Easington are working in partnership with Durham County Council and WRAP (the Waste & Resources Action Programme) to supply compost bins to residents for massively discounted prices.
For more information click on the link to either Durham County Council’s website or Recycle Now's website.
Please call 0845 077 0757 to order your compost bin. Bins come with free delivery as well as a free guide to information and advice.
