Household waste - garden waste

This is a picture of garden waste being placed into a blue bin.

Due to the success of the trial scheme, a decision has been taken to extend the service to approximately 33,000 properties.  Blue bin collections will take place on a fortnightly basis. 

About this service

The blue bin will be collected on a fortnightly basis.

What you must do

You should place your bin at your normal collection point by 7am on your designated day.

What happens next?

The waste from the blue bins will then be turned into compost.

When will the scheme end?

The last collections will take place week commencing 8 December 2008.  Collections will resume during spring 2009.  Details will be sent to residents nearer the time.
