Clinical waste disposal

Clinical waste is mainly produced by hospitals, health clinics, doctors' surgeries and veterinary practices, but also arises from residential homes, nursing homes and private households.

What you must do

Arrange for the District Nurse or Medical Personnel to contact Envirocall to arrange collections.

In the case of a commercial premise such as a dental surgery, tattooist or nursing home, a contract would need to be signed prior to collections being made.

What happens next?

Collections are made once per week on a Friday.  Sharps however, will be collected on the last Friday of each month.

What are the charges for this service?

This service is free of charge to domestic properties.

Collections can be made from commercial properties, however there would be a charge for this.
