County Durham Energy Partnership
Welcome to the County Durham Energy Partnership (CDEP) web site.
This web site has been set up to allow residents of County Durham and external organisations to find out more about the activities of the County Durham Energy Partnership Group (CDEP).
The CDEP is a partnership between all seven County Durham Local Authorities with domestic energy conservation duties, gives geographical coverage of the whole of County Durham and is comprised from the following Local Authorities:

The objectives of the Partnership are to facilitate closer working between all the above Energy Conservation Authorities and other organisations such as the Energy Action Grants Agency (Eaga), the Tees and Durham Energy Advice Centre (TADEA), National Energy Action and the Fuel Utilities.
The group aims to encourage, assist, raise awareness and implement a wide range of issues relating to the reduction of domestic energy consumption, reduce fuel poverty and reduce carbon dioxide emissions in domestic properties.
This web site also gives overall statistics on the Warm Front Grant scheme (2004 - 2005) for County Durham. These statistics illustrate the success of the partnership and show the approximate reductions in energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions that have taken place under this scheme.

Durham Energy Savers (DES) Scheme
This scheme is a partnership between all the 7 Local Authorities in County Durham, ScottishPower and the Tees and Durham Energy Advice Centre (TADEA).
The DES scheme enables all private sector homeowners in County Durham to receive a substantial discount off the cost of home insulation measures such as cavity wall insulation and loft insulation. Thus assisting them to reduce their heating costs whilst providing warmer homes and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Funding is supplied from ScottishPower Ltd under the Governments Energy Efficiency Commitment (EEC) and the scheme is managed and promoted by TADEA based in Billingham.
The table below shows the numbers of properties that have claimed the DES grant over the 12 month period April 2004 to March 2005.
