Council - Corporate development
The Corporate Development provides a range of corporate services aimed at making the Council better. The unit is responsible for:
- facilitating "best value" reviews of the councils services – fundamental review of how services should be delivered and who should deliver them. These include assessments of the "4 C’s" challenge, comparison, consultation and competition
- managing the Local Strategic Partnership to achieve your vision of the future of the District - the Community Strategy
- co-ordinating the production of key corporate documents such as the Best Value Performance Plan and Corporate Plan
- co-ordinating performance indicators that show how the council is performing
- Facilitating corporate and organisational development including leading the Councils approach to “Comprehensive Performance Assessment”
- co-ordinating employee Training and Development and approaches to Investors in People and Investors in Excellence
- managing the councils Customer Service Unit which is a key point of contact for answering enquiries and taking and responding to complaints
- facilitating and co-ordinates working with the Durham City and Sedgefield Councils
- co-ordinating the councils emergency planning activity
- co-ordinating the councils commitment to saving waste and protecting the environment, including developing our Environmental Policy
- providing Graphic Design and Technical support to the Council and East Durham Homes
