The purpose of carrying out a Crime and Disorder Audit is to identify local priorities to be tackled in the next Crime and Disorder Strategy.
The Audit gathers quantitive 'hard facts' about crime and anti-social behaviour in the district from partner agencies. Information is also collected about qualitative issues, that is how people feel about crime and disorder and how safe they feel. Interviews are conducted with people working in the district and interested groups and a 'fear of crime' survey is carried out to inform how people gauge any anxieties they have about crime.
