Council tax benefit - appeals

If you believe your award of council tax benefit is incorrect you can ask the council to review its decision. You must make a written request for a review within one month of the date of the council tax benefit decision notice.  If you disagree with the initial review of your council tax benefit award you have the right to appeal to an independent appeals tribunal.

What you must do

The customer must complete a written request for a review of the decision concerning the council tax benefit claim.  The request for the review must be made within one month of the date of the notification.  The written request for the review must have any relevant supporting documentation.
