Badminton club opens to new members

A new badminton club being launched this week is looking for members game to learn a new sport.

The club will be based at Peterlee Leisure Centre and coaching sessions will be held each Friday, 6.15 – 8pm, from April 25.

The club has been organised by District of Easington Council’s Sports Development Unit.

Kellie Cogdon, Sports Development Officer, said: “The new club is open to all ages and is for anyone who plays or who would like to learn to play badminton.

“Everyone is welcome - so whether you just want to stay fit or socialise, or want to play at a competitive level please come along and give it a try.”

A coach will be on hand to offer advice and develop skills and teach new techniques.
All equipment will be provided and sessions cost £2 for adults and £1 for under 16s.
